The #optical communications 📶 system can only be used at night, as sunlight can cause interference.
So all of the live imagery from the flyby has to be directed through the #radio direct pipeline.
There’s a limited number* of ground stations 📡 on Earth that are currently able to support signals to and from the Moon at high data rates

#Artemis laser communications 📶 system : “We got 20 gigabytes down in a little more than 45 minutes. That’s orders of magnitude more than we get via our S-band telemetry system”.
