I’ve tried them all (Mokum, Lekker Lekker, Queen Vic) and I’m happy to confirm I found the best kroketten in #Melbourne: this new place at Prahran Market. They’re actually great.

Best to worst #Melbourne kroketten:

1) 🏆 Prahran Market, recently opened stall (all-round excellent)

2) 🥈 Lekker Lekker, cart visiting the outer suburban markets (great, just a little heavy on the curry)

3) Mokum, Brunswick Amsterdam café (pros: they also serve beer and fries; cons: not a great crust, and a little heavy on the curry)

4) Queen Vic Market stall (don’t waste your money)

@slevelt I suppose that should be an incentive for me to cross the river and visit the Prahran market for the first time. I’ve only lived in Melbourne for 29 years 🙃

(In my defence, that’s 29 years within walking distance of the QVM)

Note that Casa Iberica on Johnston Street sells (pre made packaged) spanish kroketten of potato + flavourings. Different, but also very yum.

@cafuego do make sure you check the market opening times before you come over. I also recommend a visit to nearby Greville Records if you’re into that kind of thing
