I feel insane. Is it me or is being left-handed even more of a difficulty than it was 10 or 20 years ago? Every time I close my hand around anything, I am reminded "you are not like other people." Are we making any progress in accessibility at all? #southpawA11y

And I feel insane also complaining about it. Like, I just have a different dominant hand, it's not like my arm's paralized, or missing. I can use the other hand. It just fucking sucks, all of the time

I struggle to use ""normal"" sized smartphones despite having bigger hands and longer fingers than most people I know, just because everything on the screen is optimized for holding it with your right hand. I don't know what it's like to unlock the phone with my thumb

The first versions of Android had a feature to mirror the screen buttons, but they dropped support for that a long time ago. Fuck me, I guess

And implementing it now would be worse bc it'd mess with muscle memory & also fight against the apps and sites that would just not support it

My partner convinced me to go skiing for a couple days. Sure, why not. I went to get some pants for the snow and didn't think much of it.

Turns out they have a single pocket. On the right. Great! It's not like I need my dominant hand. I can use my weak hand for everything, no problem

Do you know how surreal it is to have to read "people like you make a rly good metaphor for evil" unironically like it's still the 1600s. It's not a rare occurence either
