What are some tips for getting out of a special interest that you suspect might be psychologically unhealthy?

@brib as someone with autism *and* OCD, I am probably the last person in the world who should make suggestions about this.
@brib the obvious for me is not having the thing easily available, because sometimes out of sight is out of mind. What have you tried already?
@llPK I did try unfollowing most of the people talking about GenAI, but out of sight is still very much in mind, especially as I'm insecure about my work situation (or lack of it).
@llPK I think I need to learn to stop checking social media as an automatic thing. But that's really hard and I struggle with motivation to do much else right now
@brib do you have a trusted person or persons IRL to help you? Sometimes they have a knack to redirect us to more helpful things.
@llPK Hmmmm... I am not too sure. I know a few people irl, although not a huge number, and a while ago I was burned by my parents moral panicking over this (incidentally this why moral panics are a bad reaction to, well, anything). OTOH my friends are not my parents and now is not then so I could just be hesitating out of a trauma response .
