Android's new feature "adjust how bright you want your flashlight to be, every time, instead of just on/off": NO THANK YOU. I don't want to press extra buttons for no reason thanks.
@SheHacksPurple at First i thought i have fast fingers and was accidentally touching something i should not
@SheHacksPurple also they have Patent from Motorola to Shake the Phone to toggle the light. No Button presses needed *sigh*
@SheHacksPurple Agreed.
If you press just the icon it turns it on/off at least but yeah - long press would have been better IMO.
@SheHacksPurple so I have an app that does exactly that
The way I use flashlight is shortpressing its tile (the grid one has when swiping down from top of screen).
If I longpress on it, it opens the app, allowing for precise control.
0 more button presses required compared to how Id use system flashlight.

@SheHacksPurple

I appreciate that feature on a real flashlight but if someone needs it i suggest they get a real flashlight and not always wonder why their phone battery is run down.

@SheHacksPurple
Toggling flashlight should toggle between max and no light. Extra use cases like dimming should be through further steps to avoid mistouch

I use an app from fdroid named FlashDim for adjusting the brightness level whenever I need such an odd use case

@SheHacksPurple in the category of "improvements" no one ever asked for.
@SheHacksPurple Maybe I'm doing something differently, but I have the flashlight in my quick settings. That's a normal toggle as I'd expect. Long pressing gives me the adjustable ui
