A poll, about cleaning! ๐Ÿงน

How often do you mop your floors? Incredibly vague increments selected here, please roughly pick!

I grew up with parquet so there was a lot of vacuuming but only a little bit of mopping and never with much water, and I feel like that has influenced me much. ๐Ÿค”

Once a week or so
Every couple of weeks or so
Every month or two
One big clean when necessary
My floors cannot be mopped
Poll ends at .
I do have three cats and am very slightly obsessive with things feeling clean, so I do mop but not on a set schedule, only when I feel like it's required. Usually because of the cats, or because I want to do do something on the floor and want it to be clean!
@sinituulia I have vinyl flooring, in kitchen and bathroom, which was all replaced in January. I've since kept up a once a week mopping routine, which I wasn't doing before, so I hope I can manage to maintain that discipline.
@beecycling Nodding, best of luck! I've gotten to the routine of vacuuming as many times per week as it takes, but wow does it only sometimes occur to me to mop...
@sinituulia Vacuumimg is definitely something I need to do more often!
@sinituulia Never. I sweep them and when I feel like water should be added I take a bucket and rag and scrub them.
@kilroy_was_here That's just mopping with a different tool, though?
@sinituulia For some reason I feel that mopping pushes the dirt around. Scrubbing it gets it out all the way. IDK how true it is but it's just how I feel about it and I must refuse to go on another research binge or I'll be up for 48 hours lol

@kilroy_was_here Probably depends on the amount of dirt, the mop used, and whether you're rinsing the mop in between dirty spots? And the floor type.

I use different fluffy flat mops (just bought at different times, not different tech) slightly moistened with vinegar water and if I do it twice, the first time the mop will be pretty disgusting and the second time almost indistinguishable from clean (there's always more cat hair no matter what) ๐Ÿค”

@kilroy_was_here My definition of Good Enough is also that I can no longer see the ubiquitous little paw prints when sun reflects on the parquet tiles, they're like fingerprints but more persistent and if they come off, certainly the floor is much cleaner than it was!
@sinituulia The completely honest answer is "Not often enough."

@sinituulia I have a robot vacuum and mop that I run mostly nightly. Then probably once a month I do a proper mop.

Barring that I'd do a proper mop about once a week.

I really like having clean floors, it changes the entire feeling of a room.

@sinituulia Parquet, so only mopping in the kitchen and with very little water. I do wash the bathroom & toilet floors more often, but that's a different thing.
@sinituulia Bold of you to assume I mop my moppable floors. Let's just say... not often enough ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.
