Hey NZ masto nerds, where would be a good place for an absolute beginner get a breadboard and some electronic components, and what type of stuff would recommend?

My goal is to build a synth from schematics, and I'm fairly comfortable with what that would mean learning, but there's only one place to start. Assume I can get my hands on a multimeter, and that I'll need some time before getting an oscilliscope is feasible.

@cuddlyanarchist @ordosmarkzero have you watched any of #MoritzKlein’s (of #EricaSynth) YT videos?

You might be surprised as to who might have a spare breadboard and DC power supply lying about…

@ambientspace @ordosmarkzero
I have, they're really good. It was actually his video gaing over the practical bits of strip-boards that made me realise this type of stuff could be actually doable!

@cuddlyanarchist @ordosmarkzero don’t buy a strip board… if, say, you happen to like #GingerBeerSoda and were to purchase 6 cans from the @kererubrewing website, then this very strip board will be included as a special addition. I’ve had it for 30 years and never used it…

If $30 is too expensive, then consider covering the courier charges and I’ll send it to you. Worst case is that a rural delivery will set me back by ~$20.

@ambientspace @kererubrewing
I may take you up on that, but I might take a while: I'm a bit under the weather atm.
@cuddlyanarchist no worries, the strip board isn’t going anywhere and it’s yours if and when you want it.
@cuddlyanarchist and I hope you feel better soon.
