Speaking of #NewZealand #Apples, I filtered our new collab #Cider made from locally picked and pressed apples. Here is our filtered run in action over at @kererubrewing
Filtering #cider is a tricky process as it is very easy to clog the filter. It is a very fine balancing act of speed, pressure, and enough filter medium (a slurry of diatomaceous earth and cider) to keep the filter plates permeable for the entire run. This time it went smoothly. Yay!
Our target strength for Auro is 5.0% v/v. Bang on target. I actually aim just below and a result of 4.9% would be acceptable.
Lab work to check alcohol strength (and label compliance) is a regular exercise at our #brewery. I filter our samples through diatomaceous earth to prepare it. On the left we have #beer, and on the right we have a #cider.
That moment when you intend to brew beer and discover that the heating element in your primary hot liquor tank has stopped working. Photos show the spare that past me squirreled away for a day like today 12 years ago. I sure hope it still works!
New beer! Kererū Divide & Conga Pacific Pale Ale!

When in #Wellington it's the perfect moment to stock up on @kererubrewing Night Spirit. 😁

"Night Spirit Imperial Stout is a deep dark intense imperial stout that has been aged over 10 months in rare American oak bourbon barrels that previously held New Zealand Whiskey Co. single malt for more than 20 years."

New Wellington Water beer match! Chris at Kereru knows our pain, so he's made a very tasty hazy with a very cheeky kea on the can. Dodge the road cones and flap in for a flip and a froth.
