I've been paying #Kagi for search since it's worth my time to get results instead of ads and slop. Added benefit: their translate service is fantastic for language learners. Where Google Translate gives the minimum, Kagi goes all out.

@cayhorstmann Must be nice to have a) the money to spare, and b) the ability to pay even if you have the money to spare to get actual search instead of ads and slop.

Where do those of us who lack either or both of the above go?

@cayhorstmann Kagi fully embraces AI slop so Iโ€™m not sure what you are talking about here. Their CEO also seems like a bit of an asshole.

@SharpCheddarGoblin @cayhorstmann

While generally anti-AI, Iโ€™m an avid language learner, and have found LLMs a great tool for that. Iโ€™ve tried all the available translators; Kagi is the best by far. Not perfect, but the best. When I spot an error, I send feedback and also post on their Discord channel.

Itโ€™s making more sense to me that some models are branching out into coding. Iโ€™m a programmer, too, and have always considered that skill an extension of my language abilities.

Iโ€™m now waiting for an LLM that can speak intelligently in the language of advanced math.

@Poindex76 @SharpCheddarGoblin @cayhorstmann well, it's Large Language Model ๐Ÿ˜‰thus very good to work with language.
@cayhorstmann ive been an avid user of their translator and it really is probably the best one ive used, and you actually dont even need to pay for it which is cool
Kagi Translate

Kagi Translate uses powerful AI models to instantly and accurately translate any content in any language.

@cayhorstmann you missed the main reason to use Kagi translate. LinkedIn speak <-> English. I know it's meant as a joke, but it's seriously #timesaver ๐Ÿ˜‚
