#WeirdCarMastodon I need your help. Is this a factory Toyota Yaris floppytop, or has someone made a really nicely finished one-off?
I don't recall ever seeing a convertible Yaris before.

@vulgalour okay, this is exactly what I thought it was.
This is a Toyota-built concept car from 2000 called the Yaris Cabrio. It was obviously never put into production. And yes it is specifically the concept car; it's the same yellow, same wheels, same everything.
@vulgalour that's the neat thing about concept cars and Fiat Punto Cabrios: they don't have to pass crash testing!
The possibility of a Yaris convertible passing, well, literally ANY crash test whatsoever without actively killing all occupants is exactly 0.00000%.
@vulgalour like, the 3-door hardtop sold in most of the world didn't even have dual airbags. Some didn't have an airbag PERIOD!
And boy fuckin' howdy when Monash crash tested one to 2000-2001 Australian standards? It basically FAILED. The 3 door couldn't even be sold in North America until '03 with major revisions because, well.
