Seriously, aside from the earlier Toho Kaiju efforts this is the real deal and the template for Legendary’s Godzilla:King of the Monsters. Great direction, terrific story and action make this a compelling watch. My only complaint is that in this movie , as in other Showa films, the Japanese military has such bad aim. Loads of ordnance are fired but none seem to hit their target.
