Trans feel good story:

An all trans masc team placed third in an iron man competition. They beat over 200 teams.

Trans mascs aren’t automatically worse than cis men at sports.

We love hopecore!

Them.

@Melezioh

Do they call themselves transmasc ? Or are they transMEN ?

#TransMENAreMEN

@MusiqueNow @Melezioh most people use a space
Tall man
Bored man
Strong man
Trans man.

Trans folks are people. Missing out the space makes them seem more separate. Trans is just an adjective like any other.

@noodlemaz @Melezioh

#TransMENareMEN

An antiAFAB world hates AFABs who are MEN and try desperately to disrepect and dismiss the manhood of transMEN whilst having NO PROBLEM saying #TranswomenAreWomen

Even some trans women along with TERFs and cis gay men (I'm sad to say) have trivialised transMEN and make excuses for refusing to respect them as MEN

That's why I asked if these 3 people refer to themselves as 'masc' instead of men. Whether they refer to themselves as 'masc' or 'men' is up to no one else but these 3 people.

@MusiqueNow @Melezioh yeah I don't disagree with your overall point

I'm just saying your smushing together of the adjective 'trans' with the noun men (or women) is also quite dehumanising.

I.e. Using transmen/transwomen instead of trans men, trans women.

@noodlemaz @Melezioh

You can't be serious!

@MusiqueNow @Melezioh here's a discussion, if that helps. (My trans friends do not refer to themselves this way. Transphobes do though, all the time).
All the best

@noodlemaz @Melezioh

Oh and btw! I use transmen because the transpeople I love use transmen and transwomen. They 'smush' the words together.

I capitalise the 'men' part whenever I write and will continue to capitalise (transMEN) because I'm fed up with the attitudes towards AFABs of various gender identities but especially how soceity treat transMEN

This should finish it.

All because if a question? REALLY?

@noodlemaz @Melezioh I think this comes down to preference. I see transmasc and transfem used as singular words all the time. For context, I am transmasc. I think it's in part due to the use of hashtags, but if you notice the article itself also uses "transmasc". The team in question also called themselves "Team Iron Transmasc". Trans men sometimes smash it together too. I wouldn't nitpick it too much if it's trans people themselves posting about it, which in this case, the person posting it, the person authoring the article, and the people the article are about, are all trans.

(I did block that musiquenow person though, because oof, they're incredibly aggressive.)
