Why is it that every time there is a strike, UK politicians issue statements as if they are just discovering how strikes work for the first time?
Like, today it's all "The striking doctors are holding patients to ransom!!?" and like, yeah, that's what a strike is, they withhold their labour until you meet their demands, is this a surprise? And it's every time. Transport workers, bin collection workers, every time the politicians feel the need to point out that the labour being withheld is valuable and withholding it causes problems, and don't seem to realise that that's exactly the point.
