God bless Rep Ted Lieu. He's saying it because it's the truth and it's the right thing to say.
But he's also playing on their fears effectively: they know they're going down at this point. They are frantically trying to deny it and shift blame and distract, but they know. Even the brain dead ICE agents know for the most part-- we can see it in their behavior.

This might sound harsh, but honestly, at this point, anything is possible. And if you don't think the trump administration would go *this* far, you clearly didn't pay attention to Project 2025, or Trump literally saying "you won't have to vote anymore" [1].
