Poco fa Istanbul, in Turchia, è stata sconvolta da una sparatoria davanti al Consolato israeliano che si trova sulla sponda europea della città. A riferire l’accaduto è l’emittente tv turca Ntv secondo cui sul posto è subito intervenuta in forze la polizia “neutralizzando due assalitori” e ferendone un terzo che è stato arrestato. Agenti che hanno poi lavorato per mettere in sicurezza l’edificio e l’intera area che, al momento, è pressoché inaccessibile.
Stando a quanto trapela lo scontro a fuoco è durato circa cinque minuti, con gli assalitori che erano armati fino ai denti. Uno scontro in cui oltre ai due terroristi uccisi e il terzo fermato e gravemente ferito, sarebbero rimasti feriti anche due agenti di polizia. Sul caso è già stata aperta un’indagine dalle autorità turche in cui si ipotizza il reato di terrorismo.

Fortunatamente questo attentato ha causato “danni limitati” in quanto il Consolato è vuoto da tempo. Il personale diplomatico, infatti, aveva lasciato Istanbul diverso tempo fa a seguito delle crescenti tensioni per la conduzione della brutale guerra nella Striscia di Gaza che hanno portato a un durissimo scontro tra il governo di Ankara, guidato da Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, e quello di Israele di Benjamin Netanyahu.
