Trump admits on camera that at his request, the U.S. is now stealing Venezuela's oil to fill the American war chest.

This is the world's richest country, plundering a country where 80 percent of people did not have enough food to eat in a 2017 survey, according to Human Rights Watch.

@randahl Americans love to use superlatives to describe themselves. But we don't have to describe them in the same terms.

The world's "richest" country ? Surely "most in debt" would be more accurate. They will never pay back what they've borrowed from the rest of the world.

Perhaps we could also use:

Most self-righteous nation
Most warmongering nation
Most poorly educated
Most violent democracy
Least democratic democracy
Least equal democracy (see Gini coefficients)

In this specific case a country where 15% of people don't have enough food to eat is stealing from a country where 80% don't have enough.

The US is a failed state.
