Samsung updates the list of supported devices in April 2026 SMR!

Samsung has re-evaluated the supported devices list as of this month as of today, and you can see the updated list in full here. We have run a comparison of supported models, and the results are now in:

The following devices have been added to the list:

  • Monthly security patches
    • Galaxy A57 5G
  • Quarterly security patches
    • Galaxy A37 5G

This means that the above devices’ update schedule frequency has been added as monthly and quarterly updates, which means that security updates will arrive to these devices monthly and quarterly. For the A57, monthly updates are expected, while the A37 will receive quarterly updates, which aligns with our expectations.

The following devices’ update schedule has been demoted:

  • Monthly to quarterly security patches
    • Galaxy A53 5G

This means that the Galaxy A53 5G will no longer get security patches on a monthly basis, but on a quarterly basis. The update frequency will be lower, starting from this month.

The following devices have been removed from the list:

  • Quarterly security patches
    • Galaxy M23 5G

This means that support for the Galaxy M23 5G has been removed and the device will no longer get security patches anymore. The last upgrade was made for this device to One UI 6.1, which has been released on May 30th, 2024, in Europe.

The upcoming foldable series, the Z8 series, is expected to get monthly security patches, given the flagship nature of the device and the history of the Galaxy foldable series.
