Tactical Callsigns in #APRS
Using a tactical callsign can be incredibly useful for specific operations. However, it remains your responsibility to ensure that using one is actually legal within your jurisdiction.

Every country has its own telecommunications laws regarding amateur radio identification. In certain countries (f.e. G, SP, D…), transmitting without official, licensed callsign (often in a very specific format) is strictly prohibited. It is worth noting that this applies to APRS packets as well.

Before configuring your device with a tactical call, please double-check your local regulations. Furthermore, keep in mind that APRS software often includes various features that are not explicitly marked with legal warnings. Simply because a function is available within the program doesn't mean it's legal to use in your country; activated could lead to unnecessary legal complications.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse, and transmitting illegally can damage the reputation of the entire amateur radio community. #hamradio
