This week on the #AniMangaPictureChallenge, we're using:

đŸ•šī¸ Remote Controls đŸŽ›ī¸

From toy cars, to televisions, to spaceships and giant robots, lots of things across #manga and #anime can be controlled remotely. But we don't want to see the things, we want to see the remotes themselves!

Send pics of your favorite remote controls to @apc using the hashtag #AniMangaFoundIt to help make sure your post is seen.

Send your remote controls by April 12th to make it in to the community collage.

@apc Hmmm this one might take some thinking!

@apc Well, my "watches" alternate reference merged with a remote control, which is tempting to use, but might as well drop the OG reference for The Kid With the Remote Controlentirely. So today we #AniMangaFoundIt through something so old it's got sponsor messages built right into the OP.

Imagine having to lug this sucker around with you everywhere.

Not even a neck strap. Shotaro Kaneda must be one bulked out 10 year-old under that suit. Dude's holding it steady with just one hand.

Amusingly it is in the English theme that the remote gets immediate prominence, as well as lyric mention.

Also it gets "Gi-gaaaaaAAAAAaaaaan-toooooorrrrr" so

There's that.

@apc Of note:

Said remote control looks suspiciously similar to a time bomb used later in S2 E46 "Racist Representations of Arabs" so I'm wondering if this world just builds everything kinda the same way: Boxy and with handles.

I suppose it's better than 90's Marvel aethetic. I don't think I could handle Shotaro all chromed up and with legstrap pouches.

Also the dude activates this by tapping the switch twice (but which does not move) and pressing the rightmost button.

Does all their technology work with "minimal actuation plus intent vibes?"
