Did you know that if you calculate thiessen polygons for every stone circle on the island of Britain that you get a very pretty picture which tells you absolutely nothing relevant at all? Pretty though.
@redthewizard it does that, but I get the feeling that this density is more to do with clava style burial cairns which are sometimes surrounded by a circle of small megaliths but aren't the classical stone circle that we general associate with the term.
@postantiquarian In the info I could find "clava style" referred to a number of monuments around inverness, but not in the area in the north east where that dense patch of polygons is.
@redthewizard could be. I did a semi-deep dive into that area and found a lot that weren't classical circles. There are a lot of recumbent circles in that area though. It's an interesting cluster regardless.
