RE: https://floss.social/@fdroidorg/116358345661473720

F-Droid is an App Store that does not allow developers to sign their own apps and now complains about Google enforcing developers developer identification.
If you want freedom then install GrapheneOS or any other AOSP distribution and install apks build by developers, use Obtainium, build them yourself or use Accrescent.
Edit: only for non-reproducible builds:

Why lie though? Developers can always sign their own #FLOSS verified #reproducible built apps, we host almost 1000 of those.

Many developers choose not to submit to #Google, hence no matter if they sign or not, it does not matter if you download via Github, Obtainium or Accrescent, their apps won't be installable anyway.

If the #keepandroidopen site does not make this clear, please say so.

@fdroidorg I'd like to correct my statement then F-Droid only ships developers signatures for reproducible builds. There the signature is not important though because I can verify that the binary matches the code.
Where it would be important is when there a no reproducible builds.

How do I get my app included? How do I change the description and add meta information like screenshots? How do I license my app? How are donations handled? ...

@besendorf Thank you for the correction and we will make the docs a bit clearer in this regard.

And we agree that many apps will have an issue, as they are signed by F-Droid for historical reasons.
