β@lowqualityfacts Because they don't have to be billionaires. All billionaires could live quite comfortably with a hundred million dollars or so. The other 10x contributes nothing more to their lifestyle.
I am still a little suspicious of how people value these things. None of these 'billionaires' has a bank account with a thirteen-digit number of dollars. It's in portfolios, it's in tradable assets, it's in shares and bonds that go up and down in value according to the market. And you don't just go down and sell your spare football team or skyscraper on Facebook marketplace. Those too are worth only what someone else will pay for them, not what they were last valued at or what some journalist decides to report.
But yeah. No billionaires. Pay it back to society, lest society find you.
