@kcarruthers @quinn unfortunately most people only became aware of israel's modus operandi with the most recent genocide in Gaza. Even me, a Lebanese who grew up in Lebanon, was blissfully unaware and uneducated on their operations in my own country. As a child you just don't learn about it in any way unless your parents talk about it. I started looking things up since 2023 and realizing israel has been committing these atrocities since even before its creation was gut wrenching. Made me truly understand the depth of anti-Arab racism from the west. Our lives mean nothing.

Back circa 2005, there was an interview with an elderly Jewish woman on one of the national broadcasters. Talked about her life both in Israel and Australia. Family members who died in the Holocaust. Then in the middle of it, she talks about growing up in British Palatine*, and her family pushing Arabs of their land, then on to more reminiscing.
* My guess is that this was in the early 30s.
