The Mastodon team is finally getting some traction, the product improvements are increasing, The #UX is improving, yet people posting on multiple platforms are making comments like this. It's confusing. I *know* people here don't want this to be a classic social media-clone but we'd *like* journalists to be here right? They aren't coming with examples like this!

@dumpsterqueer like yes we should work to become more inclusive and help minority communities feel safe on here, especially considering the fediverse's bad track record with that. but we do not in fact have to hand it to people peddling AI who use borderline if not actually racist analogies

@dumpsterqueer there does seem to be more of this beyond the surface level "who is this dork trying to make AI a Thing on here" so I'll probably have to read into things but this was a Very bad first impression
