On the one hand it’s amazing how little time it takes to travel 250,000 miles to the Moon. Two solid weeks of supersonic air travel can be done in two days in space.

On the other hand the Moon is really really really close. Mars is seven to ten months from Earth when they’re close to each other, and that’s once every other year for a couple months.

Proxima Centauri is further. A one-way trip at Artemis speed would take 100,000 years, as long as it’s been since Homo sapiens left Africa.
