New Blog: Let Games Die

"Let Code Die is rooted in a trust that if we have code that we like and we lose it, we can write it again. What would it mean to trust ourselves as game developers, designers, critics and players in the same way?"

@mtrc I'm reminded of heirloom plants, but especially animal breeds. That to keep a specific breed of chickens alive requires accepting they will die in time, and you must either eat their meat or let part of what they were first bred for go to waste, in turn making it harder for you to keep supporting the population when you don't let it support you.
@mtrc As someone who feels like I'm lovingly making a sculpture out of soapstone when I code for fun, "let code die" rubs me in a wrong way that I can't quite explain. But the post was a very fun read! ♥️ Nice job, Mike!
@wrench Honestly, me too! It's a hard thing to embrace. But I like that resistance I feel to it, it makes me think about why! Thanks for reading it :)
@mtrc Yeah, thinking about this kind of resistance points is a cool thing to do, whether you end up embracing them or not.
