2026 Poll Worker and Poll Observer Volunteers · Mobilize
Not all heroes wear capes but by signing up to become an election official, you can be a hero for democracy. We are in need of both poll workers and poll observers all across Moore County for both early voting and on election day at all precinct locations. Please sign up to be directed to training opportunities from both the NCDP and the local Board of Elections. To qualify to work as a poll worker, the applicant must be a registered voter who resides in the precinct where they wish to serve. This is a non-partisan position designed to assist voters and are trained by the Board of Elections. Poll workers cannot be a precinct officer or party board member. Poll observers are individuals who monitor polling places and ballot counting sites. Poll observers play an important role in providing transparency and are trained and placed by the Democratic Party. Poll observers do not interact with voters, but can report perceived problems or irregularities to the chief judge of the polling place, and log them into software designed to track and follow-up on voting issues or irregularities. Not sure which you would rather do? Sign up to receive information for both opportunities and someone will contact you to answer any questions you may have.
