@Crowsinger Remember when it was truly dark at night? No porch lights left on, no lights of any kind? I remember I hated my first answering machine because it had a little light that stayed on all the time and it felt wrong to me for any light to be on at night while I slept.

@nancywisser Yes I lived in rural Appalachia for part of my growing up. Beautiful darkness and the wind in the trees.
