Every Republican and centrist Democrat would scream bloody murder through every possible channel of communication. Talking heads would raise the spectre of World War III. Hell, justices of the Supreme Court would probably weigh in on the threat to sovereignty and the loss of national stature. Pandemonium.

In other words, free publicity for an idea worth spreading. 👍
