i am already shaking my head at 96khz as needlessly overkill but what the fuck man. can any speaker even reproduce frequencies that high? will they attenuate before crossing the room??
mostly this makes it really annoying to obtain newly remastered music now, because it's released only in two formats: stupid massive overkill sample rate (and I have to then downsample just to avoid burning hundreds of megabytes on storing ultrasonics) OR fucking. vinyl. please just remaster and give me 16/44.1 thanks. "one bit at 2.822mhz" statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged
