I was raised to believe that the Olympic Games was about representing everyone the world over
excluding trans, nonbinary and intersex competitors is like excluding red haired people
its stupid, cruel, grim
just holding the Olympics in the US was a bad idea given LGBTQ people are advised not to travel there for fear of being disappeared or murdered
but now its just another banner that means CISGENDER ONLY
many national flags are just the symbols of colonialist projects, still feared by many victims and people suffering generational trauma the world over
seeing the few symbols of unity that exist outside of them draw the line at including certain minorities sucks
the Olympics, Darts, Chess, Girl Guides, Women's Institute... I won't ever forget. none of us can afford to. its a question of survival for us
