30 years of growing #GMO soya—Argentina's massive open-air experiment has meant vast monocultures displacing thousands of families from their lands, millions of hectares devastated, and epidemics of disease caused by all the pesticide use—BUT $$ for agribiz and growing resistance. https://gmwatch.org/en/106-news/latest-news/20650-argentina-30-years-of-genetically-modified-soy

So similar to Brazil. In congress the rural caucus (bancada ruralista) overlaps w/ the cattle+guns+bible caucus (bancada do boi, bala e da bíblia)and always vote in favor of agribiz.
Like in Argentina but maybe more strongly, the agribiz also use the soft power of culture like paying for soap-operas that celebrate the success of their toxic model, and buy radio stations too. We used to have "sertanejo" or country/folk music that became "AGROsertanejo" etc. #Agroecology #FoodSoverignty
