Hello type friends! I’m seeking some advice. I’m nearing the release of my first font for my foundry and while I’ve sold a few typefaces through third parties like MyFonts and YouWorkForThem I’m considering offering them directly through my own site. This feels like a fresh start and I’d like to explore that avenue. I’ve looked at Fontdue but given this is a new venture I can’t justify the monthly costs at the moment. Do you have any recommendations for alternatives I could incorporate into my site? I’d really appreciate your help!
@Stuarthazley “email me for licensing” works fine, plus stripe invoicing. Or any of the other options already mentioned.
@thierryblancpain @Stuarthazley Slap a PayPal button on a static specimen. Maybe a test font download too. If it works out, develop the site for future releases. You do not need a fully fledged foundry CMS early on.
@klim @Stuarthazley We actually launched with PayPal pay me now buttons back in 2009. I’d send out the files whenever I got back to a computer and saw the purchase. But that was 2009. I’d rather have the email conversation and get to know people so early on it I’d start over again.
