As the privacy respecting Twitch frontend SafeTwitch is no longer maintained, I stumbled upon Grayjay by FUTO as an alternative. They have builds for #Linux and #Android.

While they rely on privacy and locally stored data, there is still some telemetry tracking. But from my perspective that is still much better than using the official Twitch clients.

They also support other platforms like YouTube and #PeerTube, but luckily for those are better alternatives available.

@repeatro I'm big fan of grayjay, I use it on my phone as a youtube alternative since I'm trying to go googless as much as I can :)

For mobile I rely on Newpipe. It runs stable for so many months yet.

I may consider YouTube in Grayjay when the download function is promising. Do you use that one?

@repeatro I don't normally, it's essentially a wrapper of youtube-dl from the looks of it, you have to experiment a bit to figure out which download options come with audio and what quality is good to download, nothing that takes more than 5 minutes to figure out. I wish it did live stream chats better, but it's a new feature so they tell you it's still WIP
