✨ A Little (About) Joy ✨

After taking the Bar, I spent a year Taipei to recharge. I had non-English speaking roommates, learned Chinese and explored Asia! Immersion in my culture helped me find the "Joy" I now share through my art!

Have you lived abroad?

@joyousjoyness
I've travelled some of the States, but never lived farther than an hour from where I am now.

My sisters went further for school, halfway across the country, but the one moved back and now lives in the next city over, just an hour from home.

@silvermoon82 great to have family nearby! I ended up a mile or so away from my brother's house and my parents' house!
@joyousjoyness I did a study abroad in Tours, France when I was in college, summer of 2001. It was so wonderful!
@joyousjoyness I'm from Taipei and I love the city! So many to explore and you can virtually take MRT and bus to anywhere. Although the heat become more unbearable in my opinion. It wasn't like this when I'm young lol. I guess it's a global trend. We used to go running/biking from 5-7am otherwise the sun will bake us into jerky. Stayed in the AC room until 6pm then go night market or somewhere swimming, home at 10pm. It's completely different than the US lifestyle.
@tyk totally! It's gotten hotter and hotter here in California too. I miss Taiwan and hope to bring my kids there someday!
I did live and study in Belgium for a year. As a Dutch native speaker, I could understand Flemish. In the beginning it felt like a totally different world. It was a nice experience.
