Darren Fower𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺, a new "𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁" has been 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 to deal with a rise in threats and abuse to 𝗠𝗣𝘀, and police forces are now being offered specialist support from it?
𝗨𝗞 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 suggests. reports of crimes against MPs have more than doubled since 2019, reaching almost 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 last year, with the spike driven by allegations of harassment, criminal damage, and threats to kill!?
Without trying to 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦 the issue, this does 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 work out to be an average of 19 reports of crime a week, and given there are 𝟲𝟬𝟬 𝗠𝗣𝘀, compared to other crimes, that's not overtly excessive!? #IMO
