@shellsharks @rysiek A lot of journalists and influencers assume that most people are like them. They project their own competencies, or lack of them to the wider public.
This is similar to a review who reviews a new computer and the first thing they do is encode 4k video.
They assume that everyone wants to do that.

Also they are often missing the point that open source projects are evolving around a community. The community dictates the direction a project will evolve and not some kind of corporate agenda.

In any case the majority of journalists have decided to ignore mastodon and fediverse in general and quite a few of them did what they could to manipulate their audience away from fediverse.
