Just got home a bit ago from a meetup with some friends. Good experience.

Now beginning to watch the first of two movies I plan to see tonight.

The Shrouds (2024), directed by David Cronenberg, starring Diane Kruger, Vincent Cassel, Guy Pearce, and Sandrine Holt. This is a Criterion release I got in that sale.

After that, if all goes well, Cabaret (1972), directed by Bob Fosse, starring Liza Minnelli, Michael York, Helmut Griem, Marisa Berenson, and Joel Grey.

The Shrouds - Wikipedia

@aka_quant_noir I have never seen Cabaret.

@dnkboston

I can't remember if I have either! Fun, yes?

@aka_quant_noir Let us know what you think!
@dnkboston It was Fosse, so the opening number was strong if a bit claustrophobic. I don't know if I'd have cast Michael York. Liza was good. Unfortunately I fell asleep halfway through it. My bad!
@aka_quant_noir Sounds like we were separated at birth. Same thing happened to me when I tried to watch The Seven Samurai.

@dnkboston

Yeah, we can always watch it again later and catch what we missed. :) I give myself permission to nap!

@aka_quant_noir I never regret a good nap
