We're just lucky he hasn't insisted we all call it the American Ocean.

@hypostase - this isn't about Trump.

It's about journalists not knowing what NATO stands for while still writing about it.

I do get that. I also wouldn't be surprised if many US citizens thought the same thing. If it's the New York Times, I'd've been disappointed in the before times, but I could hardly be surprised now.

@hypostase @aby there was once a time where the NY times was a reputable organization. Then a billionaire bought it.

Billionaires ruin everything.

@hypostase @aby It will be called the American Ocean once America has sunk beneath it, like Atlantis (mythologically).

I am not a US citizen, so I try not to say that, with that level of detail, and seriously, out loud, usually.

Don't disagree with the analysis, though. Only I don't really see a significant change in direction over the course of my lifetime (50 some years) Bush I had limited goals Bush II, didn't, the rest this millennium were the continuity programme.

Somewhere else I said something about words we now have in our vocabulary like Agent Orange, and rendition. Unless there is a fundamental turn around, a full 180, if it's not Tuesday, then it's just a matter of when.
