Well today I got my Google Pixel 9a phone😁.
So now I can retire my old Asus ZenFone Z5 but only after I remove the bullshit OS that came with the Pixel 9a and install GrapheneOS😎
I like the phone but I don't like Google.

So that night installing GrapheneOS was easy after I went through hell in trying to get Chromium with Web-USB on my Non-Main PC running kubuntu v24.04.4 LTS.
After an Hr of trying I gave up & moved onto trying to get Chrome on the system but that also was a bitch but not as hard as Chromium🙄
After I was done with Chrome I used TimeShift to make it like evil chrome was never on my system.
I hate Chrome & Chromium.

@ETARD_The_LifeCaster My pixel runs LineageOS and it's really nice. Not to mention was the easiest phone to unlock the bootloader and root with Magisk. If you are into that.

@glitterbean
I have reasons why I did not go #LineageOS
.1 Do I need Root?
Well I ran what came on my Asus ZenFone Z5 becasue I had never seen a stock ROM that had just about nothing on it & did not drive me crazy, so I have not had root for a long time(yes I do miss sometimes) but GrapheneOS is more security centric & to be that way I can't have root access.

.2 I do like the easier web-installer that GrapheneOS has vs the flashing way.
I don't flash phones everyday & don't want to brick it.

@ETARD_The_LifeCaster @glitterbean yeah if you have a Pixel I would go with Graphene just because of the security and privacy benefits. I have a Xiaomi so I'm stuck with Lineage, which is still pretty great.
@redux @ETARD_The_LifeCaster The only thing that makes me feel stuck is when I have to trust a single operating system to automate all my security settings without even the system privileges to ask such questions I can verify with simple admin cmds.
@glitterbean @redux
"trust a single operating system to automate all my security settings" That's not how GrapheneOS is, it give one way more security control.
The main reasons I need root is to turn on security stuff that the phone makers did not turn on or don't.
With GrapheneOS most of that is already done.
Yes the OS is missing 2 things I like to have but I got 2 App's to fill that gap & I don't need root to run them.
net.zygotelabs.Locker
& dnsfilter.android aka personalDNSfilter.
@ETARD_The_LifeCaster @redux I'm going to have to try it out for sure.
@glitterbean @redux
I think that would be a good idea as it has things that I have never seen in any other ROM.
Do keep in mind that GrapheneOS is very spartan of a ROM.
They are not about customization of the UI etc...
even some small things like sorting my app tray my way,
I do miss a little.
