“A prisoner has been removed from public record.
Their location is being withheld.
Contact has been cut off.
And the state is refusing to explain why.
Under international human rights standards, this pattern has a name: enforced disappearance. The detention of a person followed by a refusal to disclose their fate or whereabouts. It is a practice historically associated with authoritarian regimes and political repression.”

It’s a bit scary to think but it’s not impossible that he’s been deported somewhere.. or swallowed up in a ice detention center

@bewilderbeast23 @lisagetspolitik @iBlame I’m so old I remember conservatives worrying that the government would send anonymous jackbooted thugs to pull people off the street and into unmarked vans to send them to camps.
@bewilderbeast23 @[email protected] I get a weird sense of completion, a satisfaction from seeing this now in the open. It is the ouroboros.

@iBlame

I was never for the death penalty before this ICE stuff, but it's difficult to see how we really ensure this never happens again without Neuremberg style trials and punishments for both the leaders of this treason and their foot soldiers whenever the scheme comes crashing down.

@iBlame Has roots in the medieval 'oubliette' - basically a hole in the ground where prisoners were thrown, no light no way out, to be forgotten and left to die, a horrific torture.
@iBlame It is a practice historically associated with dungeon murder.
