Trump is wittingly or unwittingly realizing Putin’s goals.

There is no question: Putin owns Trump.

@fsinn
Dismantling NATO and the UN are not consequences but goals. “America First” always meant casting off the shackles of the rule of law, international cooperation, and human decency
@Cdespinosa Indeed, I did say “goals”.
@fsinn Shared goals. On the one hand it does not seem unwitting, but on the other hand, everything does…
@Cdespinosa Ah, I see what you mean. My take is he found out in Helinski that he, Trump, had been a mark and a pawn played. After that it was witting, if I had to guess. But before that, it could have been either. Even still, anyone could be telling him to do something, or telling him that would be so big and powerful and respected if he did [a thing]. He’s so easily played, he admits it.

@fsinn He does! Almost revels it it. Yet he doesn’t believe there’s any risk to him or anyone else in being a mark and a pawn so long as he’s rich and people are nice to him and he thinks he’s the smartest one in the room (which he achieves by only hiring absolute imbeciles).

The weird thing is that his argument against international cooperation is that we’re getting taken advantage of. But he’s getting taken advantage of so much more by Putin and Netanyahu and Orban.
