So I'm discovering #HeroicGamesLauncher and it will help me manage and backup save files! 😻
@tisha I know the Dev of lutris which is very veeery good on Linux too ^^
@Flutterbrony I was using it, but wanted to replace it.
@tisha why ? What was wrong with it ?
I remember I knew the creator of lutris from a Brony group at Bordeaux, he was asking for help to create lutris, which I responded I don't see the use of something like lutris with tools like wine or play on linux... I was very wrong and stupid back then :/
@Flutterbrony Lutris is made using an LLM now, so I'd rather replace this app with another one before that slop ends up on my computer.
@tisha @Flutterbrony Hi folks, sorry for barging into this conversation, but I've just found out about Lutris being slopped and was wondering if either of you have found an alternative? I'm mostly looking for something that supports handling per-game Wine prefixes. I used to use Q4Wine but that was like 10 years ago...
@IvanDSM @tisha well, for now, I still have it installed, just not updating while I found a better solution. I use steam with proton that works well (proton is good by default, but it doesn't download my games from other platform like lutris did) I used play on Linux in the past, and I'm waiting to see if gog is making a Linux client after the CEO declaration that he disliked winslop and it was the worst product he ever used and he's porting gog galaxy to Linux
@Flutterbrony @tisha Yeah, for Steam games I do use built-in Proton, but for games from other platforms (and CD sources, etc) I do like to use Wine Staging with DXVK and whatnot which Lutris made easy to enable. Guess I'll just install it begrudgingly for now then... Thanks for taking the time to reply anyway :)
