For folks who remember my bird house cam of recent years— it’s up and running. But we seem to have fewer birds this year, especially the chickadees who usually nest in this house. It’s been completely dead so far.
Chickadees have started checking out my bird house. They still seem to be shopping around but it's a start.
The birbs have made their choice and started building their nest. So glad to see it, I thought they might skip it this year.
Chickadees always peck at the sides and bottom of a nesting spot a lot before starting the nest. I'm not sure why but it's loud enough to hear even in the house.
Interior decorating, bird style
One of the birds slept in the house last night for the first time. They only do that when the nest is pretty much done and eggs are imminent.
No visible eggs in the bird house yet, but they've been known to keep them hidden in the nesting material. Soon.
They're a little hard to see, but as I thought, the chickadees have been covering eggs with nesting material to keep them safe. They're hard to see but there are at least four eggs.

@atomicbird that’s a bummer!

I have a nest under the overhang by my garage. Not sure what kind of bird it is yet. I was considering pointing a camera at it, but don’t have a readily available power source.
