"The newest evangelists of the Make America Healthy Again lifestyle aren’t muscled bros crushing reps or wellness moms posting about vaccine schedules — they’re high-school- and college-aged young women...For many of them, the path to MAHA followed a similar trajectory: chronic health problems, disappointing encounters with the medical establishment and a search for more satisfying answers."

Why Young People Are Embracing Kennedy’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ Lifestyle

Disillusioned with doctors, they went on a search for answers. They found supplements and a lot of red meat.

The New York Times
@bich Nobody sensible disagrees with the idea of a healthy lifestyle, BUT, Kennedy hasn't the first fucking clue what he's talking about. Anyone who follows him is NOT making healthy choices. More fool them. Sadly they impact others with their idiocy and chasing their fifteen minutes of influencer fame.
@nomdeb @bich It seems that it will be the swing of a pendulum; enough infectious disease deaths (in the public mind) to demand action...Public Health is a victim of its own successes...
@nomdeb @bich
There is a name for these people, "suckers".
As someone who actually does her own research...
First, I have been researching herbs for over 40 YEARS. I have taken classes in physiology.
I have a physical library that is worth a couple grand (including ayurvedic and TCM books), and, I have a set of RELIABLE online resources. That way, if I do see something that might be true, I can cross check. If the information is only on ONE site, and cannot be verified, don't bother, it only exists to sell you something that is probably either useless or at least seriously overpriced at best, and at worst, possibly toxic. (Like Ivermectin)
@bich "make America healthy again" by starting world war 3 and attacking cancer research and attacking evidence based medicine and I could go on

@bich

I heard about this article today.

Good thing we're both sides-ing decades of scientific research and teens who google researched.

I fucking can't with so much idiocy.
