This is a photo from one of our spring hikes last week, even though the leaves on the ground make it look a bit like autumn.

Around Lake Eder, the Urwaldsteig trail winds through a forest that has been left on its own for years. Large sections of this trail pass through beech forests just like this. It’s brilliant – we were almost alone in a vast area.
