In the Eroski, their store brand of margarine is called "plantequilla" and that kind of pun is extremely my shit. #Spain #Language

@meganL Sorry to well-actually, but it's not their store brand AFAIK, but a well-known brand (Tulipán) owned by Flora Food Group:

Beware, also, of the perils of putting it on your shopping list: There's danger of ending up with plain tequila! 😝

Flora Plant Unsalted does everything dairy butter can do – baking, cooking, frying and roasting - all with 100% natural plant-based ingredients.

@jandi They might not own the name "plantequilla". However, the one I saw (I didn't buy it) was their store brand with their logo on it.

@meganL I might be wrong of course, I'll take a look next time.

Anyway, thanks for the chuckle!

@jandi Oh, I'm definitely not saying there's no Tulipan Plantequilla. For all I know, they own the trade name and Eroski just licenses it when they make their store brand.

I will look again next time as well.

@meganL Ah, ok 😀 they closed the Eroski next to my house a while ago so my Eroski-fu is weaker these days, but you gave me a reason to go visit another, sometime...

I miss the "pan de pueblo" when they baked it just right! And the frozen peas.

@jandi Eroski was open today so I looked. I feel like I'm losing my marbles. I distinctly remember an Eroski branding package in light green (like the other ones on the shelf here) that said "plantequilla" but perhaps my brain mixed it all up with the Tulipán one which I didn't remember being there at all.

In any case, you were right!

@meganL Oh, thanks for the follow-up.

I see you're near, in Bilbao? so enjoy this gorgeous day, and have a nice evening!

@jandi Yes, I'm in Bilbao. Let me know if you feel like meeting up outside over coffee or something. I am here for sure until the 8th and possibly longer. Depends on if I can find cheap lodging at some universities elsewhere I need to check out.

Also, if you know someone or some org who'd like the stuff I'm having to buy to make this student residence "hotel" work, let me know. I'd hate to waste this stuff or have it go to the corporation that runs this place.

@meganL Oh, cool, boosted. We're in the Santander Bay, about 100 km. west, so a bit far for coffee, but close enough to guess that the weather is fine there too!

Thanks for the invite though, and if you come this way sure, hit me or @BigGata up!

Ah, one last thing. I have this tab opened from a search I did after reading one of your threads, but I don't remember the full context and didn't post anything then 😅

Here it is, without context, sorry!: https://serida.asturias.es/

@jandi @BigGata Sure thing. I have a Eurail pass. If I linger in this area, I am almost certain to check out where I can go on the cercanias. Thanks!

@jandi Oh, I forgot to mention I got a pan de pueblo at Eroski since you mentioned it. It's nice! Thanks!

And have a good Easter!

@meganL Lol, in our Eroski there were mainly two different people on the oven shift, and we had to learn their schedule (and validate it weekly) because one of them burned the hell out of those loafes!

I hope yours was one of the good ones, your teeth depend on it. 😄
