@Lightfighter for what it's worth this almost certainly started because of the significant shift during Carter's presidency. He tried to do some pretty Progressive things and corporations bought their way to acquiescence from the Democratic Party and from that point forward it's been both major political parties in agreement with corporations and in opposition to the people they supposedly serve
