Ok, people, I can't find definitive answers online, so tell me, do you pre-cook/soften the lasagna sheets before layering the ingredients, or do you use the hard sheets right out of the box when layering?

@eliskunk There seem to be some that want to be pre-cooked, but then it should be stated on the box. In my lasagna I never pre-cook - but I make sure I add enough sauce. If I were to only layer idk meat and cheese, there wouldn't be enough liquid for the pasta to cook through.

Before I eat the lasagna, I will poke the pasta layers with a fork or similar to find out if the pasta is soft enough already.
