Edit, solved. Full keyboard access was on.
So, #NVDARC on an iPhone 14 with latest IOS. I tried to connect my Logitech MX Keys Mini through bluetooth, but pressing F11 when connected to a computer through the app does nothing? Also tried FN+F11 annd that stuff, no reaction. Is this working with Bluetooth? Waht can I try to trubble shoot?
@MewProjects @techsinger
@jonathan859 @MewProjects I'm a bit confused. on iOS, you don't use f11 or anything like it. You just go into NVDARC, connect, and start typing/doing things. The app sends the keys and receives the speech. To do other stuff on your phone, you just hit home twice (vo+h works as usual) and go to the other app. If you're trying to go to the remote app from anywhere in the phone, as you would on windows with f11, I don't think that's possible. You can use shortcuts, though, I start NVDARC with a VO shortcut, but to go back to where I was, I go to the app switcher or the home screen.
@techsinger @MewProjects Huh? Really. You don't need to hit F11? I always thought you had to.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects We're talking about Ios, not android, right? On iOS, f11 is not something I've ever used.
@techsinger @MewProjects Yes. IOS. I did connect my Keyboard again, and the app also shows that it is connected, but the keys are still interacting with the NVDARC UI on screen, not gettingn forwarded.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects which keys, if I may ask? If you mean the arrow keys and vo commands with capslock, is it possible you have quicknav on still? Also, is it possible you have the capslock set as your vo key and still have VO on? Finally, when you type on your computer keyboard, if you can, do you hear speech? That is, is speech flowing to the iPhone?
@techsinger @MewProjects tbh I have never really used IOS/Voice Over with a keyboard so yeah, no idea where or what quick nav is. But basically all keys, alt+tab, just simply the arrow keys (without caps lock, etc.)
Yes my VO key is caps lock, but I've turned VO off and it doesn't work either.
@techsinger @MewProjects Also speech works yes.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects Are you able to send commands through the touch screen, if I may ask? Forget the keyboard, just try the touch screen. Does that work?
@techsinger @MewProjects Yup, touch works. I think it's just my lag of knowledge about anything regarding IOOS and Keyboard usage.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects Try the function keys on the keyboard, do those work? I'm thinking it's not a vo issue since it's happening when you turn it off, too, but why not be sure?
@techsinger @MewProjects Nope, no function keys for ya.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects ok, that's a step forward. I assume the keyboard works with everything else? Also, and I apologise if this is a foolish question, you're turning VO completely off, not just turning speech, off, right?
@techsinger @MewProjects Yeah, no all good. I turn off VO, but I can still see like the Keyboard focus on theh screen, as if IOS would still take priority over it and have it move through the UI rathehr than letting it be accessed by the app, if that makes sense.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects How do you turn off vo, if I may ask? What command do you give? Also, have you rebooted the phone? Finally, sorry again for the stupid question, do you have full keyboard access or anything like it on?
@techsinger @MewProjects Oh, it was the full keyboard access thing indeed. Typing this from the remote connection, works awesome. Sad that I have to turn VO off but hey, that works now, I guess.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects If I may say so, you don't need to turn VO off. I never do. Make sure quicknav is off (LeftArrow+RightArrow). Make sure that VO only uses alt+ctrl as its modifier in the NVDARC app, even if you use capslock as the vo modifier elsewhere (vo/activities). The only issue I have is that alt+ctrl+whatever doesn't work, and I don't have many such shortcuts. I like to keep VO on because of phone calls/messages, though I know you have some vision so you may not care or may like Zoom. Anyhow, glad it's working better for you.
@jonathan859 @MewProjects When you do vo+k, and hit the function keys, does it say f1, f2, etc?
